RAL 9005 matt black polyester powder coating
A clean, technical matt black with no reflections, for an OEM or racing look. TGIC-free polyester, architectural grade, built for outdoor use with low colour change over time.

🎨 Finish: smooth matt, 25 to 35 gloss units (60°)
Chemistry: TGIC-free polyester, lead-free pigments
🌡️ Cure (part temperature): 15 to 30 min at 180 °C, 12 to 25 min at 190 °C or 10 to 20 min at 200 °C
Reference thickness: 60 to 80 microns
Application: electrostatic spray gun
Substrates: aluminium, galvanised steel, steel, cast iron
Storage: dry, below 30 °C, bag tightly closed

Application tips
- Surface preparation comes first: degreasing, blasting or surface treatment. Coating durability depends on it.
- On galvanised steel, outgassing in the oven before application may be required.
- Aim for an even 60 to 80 micron coat.
- Outdoors on steel, apply an anti-corrosion primer first.
- Do not go below 60 microns: under that, durability is not guaranteed.
- Measure the part temperature, not the oven air: use temperature stickers or a thermocouple.
- After curing, rub a hidden area with an acetone-soaked cloth. If colour comes off on the cloth, the cure is insufficient.
⚠️ Important. Never mix two different powders, even of the same colour. For parts that will be assembled together, use a single batch: slight colour differences between batches are normal.
Safety
Work in a ventilated area with a dust mask, gloves and safety glasses. Keep the powder away from flames and sparks.
